The aircraft leasing company Avia Asset Management has expanded its business geography in direction of the Central Europe. In March a Slovak low-cost airline SkyEurope Airlines will start using two Boeing 737-500 aircrafts, which belong to this Lithuanian company. It is planned that the leased Boeing 737-500 aircrafts will start their scheduled flights from the Bratislava and Vienna airports.
“The company Avia Asset Management is working in the aircraft leasing market for two years already and it actively expands its customer base. We purchased eight Boeing-type aircrafts; however, we can also offer airlines other aircraft types, such as Airbus and others. By expanding the range of services we’ll start to cooperate with international banks, providing their aircraft park management services. We also plan to provide the aircraft engine leasing and other services,” said the Avia Asset Management AB Director General Alexander Kochetkov.
According to him, the aircraft leasing business easily breaks geographical barriers, the service is rather quickly redirected to the needs of new clients; therefore, the business opportunities are high. Despite the fact that the world’s airlines were the first ones to feel the consequences of the financial crisis and economic recession, the aircraft leasing business persists.
“We adapt to changes and move to new markets. In the bar of our activity we see a large area for the business prospects and seek to sell our services at a maximum profit,” claims Mr. Kochetkov.
Earlier the Boeings 737-500 which have been leased to the Slovak airline SkyEurope Airlines were flying passengers for the Lithuanian airline flyLAL - Lithuanian Airlines. The aircrafts were returned to their owner Avia Asset Management AB in mid-January of this year. After being repainted, these Boeings 737-500 will soon continue flying the air travellers.
Currently Avia Asset Management leases two Boeings 737-300 and one Boeing 757-200 out to the Lithuanian charter airline flyLAL Charters, two Boeings 737-500 to the Kazakh airline Scat Air Company, and one Boeing 737-300 to the Danish airline Jet Time. Two Boeing 737-500 aircrafts will soon be leased out to the Slovak airline.
