The biggest pilots and flight attendants training centre in Lithuania – flyLAL Training was issued a TRTO (Type Rating Training) certificate by the Civil Aviation Administration of the Republic of Lithuania, which certifies the right to carry out qualification training courses for six aircraft types rather than two, as it was before.
Until now, flyLAL Training operated under TRTO certificate entitling to provide qualification training for aircraft types Boeing 737-300/-400/-500 and Saab 2000, while from now qualification training courses will be organised for the above-mentioned aircraft types and four more aircraft types, i.e. Boeing 757, Boeing 767, ATR-42, ATR-72.
“The new TRTO certificate allows the company flyLAL Training to proceed with successful implementation of its development strategy by offering qualification training for four additional aircraft types for Lithuanian and foreign pilots and flight attendants”, stated Managing Director of flyLAL Training Arūnas Kmieliauskas. “Once again, we received a confirmation that our training facilities available satisfy international requirements and we have extended the range of our services".
TRTO certificate was issued to the training centre flyLAL Training for the term of three years. It enables provision of services not only for Lithuanian but for foreign clients, as well. This certificate places the training centre flyLAL Training into the list of training centres recognised in Europe.
According to the Head of flyLAL Training, the global situation in the aviation market urges air companies to reconsider their activity strategies in pursuit of bigger operating efficiency. One of the solutions would be a fleet of more economical aircraft. Regional aircraft ATR intended for distances below one thousand kilometres are famous for their economy, therefore their demand is increasing, followed by growing demand for their maintenance specialists.
Long-distance aircraft Boeing 757 are distinguished by their reliability, air companies are willing to include them into their aircraft fleets. According to Mr. Kmieliauskas, aircraft reliability has direct impact on economic rates of air companies. Strict requirements for aviation safety dictate precise technical maintenance of aircraft, while unexpected repairs in case aircraft reliability is not good increase operating expenses. Therefore, reliable long-distance aircraft Boeing 757 remain attractive, while the need for their maintenance specialists is growing.
From now, flyLAL Training will provide qualification training courses for the following aircraft types: „Boeing 737 300-900“, „Boeing 757”, „Boeing 767“, „Saab 2000“, ATR-42 and ATR-72. The company also organises training courses and practical training for technical and ground service specialists and other courses. Training takes place in the capital of Lithuania – Vilnius.
